Useful information

Offset Printing

print-offset

Offset printing uses the CMYK system, the adaptation of the four basic colors necessary in typographical image processing, based on the rasterization principle a.k.a. halftoning. In this method the paper surface is partially covered in circles of the four basic colors, which are small and dense enough for the eye to average the effects of the white surface and these dots – thus creating a coherent image.

It is good to know that in chromatic terms the images are directly influenced by the finish of the surface (brightness; glossy, matte or metallic surface, etc.). The more absorbent it is, the more the contrast and brightness of the printed image decreases. The result is also affected by the color of the paper or cardboard.

Digital Printing

print-digital

Digital printing is the process through which an image from a digital file is printed directly on the paper surface, without the need of a film or stencil. Any print can be carried out in high quality (400 dpi) from business cards to presentation folders.

When covering large surfaces, digital printing is done with solvent based ink that is UV- and water resistant, making it usable outdoors without additional protection required.

Indoor print paper

hartie-indoor

Plain paper - does not have a specific finish and is used for printing with pigment- or solvent based ink. Application – printing black-and-white or full-color sketches (not used in the advertising market).

Paper with matte surface - has a special surface for ink-jet printing. Based on their areas of use, these papers are divided into two groups: papers for color printing on matte surface and photo-quality printing papers.

Of all types, paper with matte surface fits best for a full-color graphic.

Photo paper – The print achieves photo quality when using this kind of paper. Photo paper differs from plain paper by its structure as it has a layered synthetic surface, which completely rules out ink absorption. The ink remains on the top coat of the material which ensures accurate color rendering, resulting in a photo quality print.

Adhesive paper (sticker) – one side of the paper has a special surface suited for ink-jet printing and the other side is coated with a sticky layer, which ensures a good adherence to plastic, cardboard and microporous surfaces. Adhesive paper is suitable for printing images in large format, for short-term room-interior decorations.

Tyvek poster paper - a universal poster material designed for indoor as well as outdoor use. It is an economical alternative to vinyl poster material and polyethylene. Tyvek paper is reinforced with polyolefin fibers.

Backlit Flex

A matte PVC material used in backlit applications:

- It is durable and resistant to water and UV;
- It has a high density, between 400-700 g / m²;
- It has a degree of translucency between 25% - 37%;
- Print quality is exceptional;

Mesh

mesh

Highly weather-resistant white PVC sheet with small and consistent perforations, which gives the showcased images a reduced grade of transparency. It is mostly used on billboards, small and large displayers and for buildings' and facade decoration. It can also be used to decorate theaters, studios, mobile stands and showcases.

It is highly UV-resistant, and one of the least flammable materials. The mesh can be fixed at its margins or at the top and bottom edges and it doesn’t require any special mounting system. Due to its texture it doesn’t swell either. This way, danger of splitting in a gust of wind and the possibility of the mesh smearing the windows is completely ruled out.

Besides its decorative function, the vinyl mesh protects the streets of construction- or maintenance-dust at building sites, and the net can be cleaned without much difficulty.

Canvas

panza-vanvas

A dense material with a special texture that resembles a painting canvas and comes in two types of finish: matte and glossy.

Designed for printing photos, art and design graphics in high quality, it is also an ideal material for reproducing paintings with quality as close to the original as possible. Changes in relative humidity do not affect the following properties of the fabric:  the quality of the applied image and the amount of time needed for the ink to dry on the canvas surface. Curls at the edges are reduced to zero due to the weight of the material, which makes working with it fairly easy. Similar to traditional painting canvas, this material can be stretched on frames without deformation or breakage of the vinyl surface at the mounting points. However, as compared to painting canvas, this one can be subjected to various other types of processing.

Backlit Film

backlit-film

It is a translucent polyester material with a glossy or matte white translucent surface for ink-jet printing. High-quality images can be printed on this film, in high resolution. It has excellent color rendering capacity, producing vivid and natural colors when illuminated from the inside, however, it also works without such light sources. Indoors, the standard-surface film can be used without additional processing.

Reverse BackLit is intended for mirrored printing. The mirrored image is printed on the matte surface and the other, glossy side is viewed. The image is printed on the matte side because it remains protected this way.

Semitransparent films are very popular materials in light boxes. These can be laminated hot or cold.

Blueback Paper

hartie-blueback

It is a resistant, opaque paper with a white print surface. The back of this paper is blue, which means it can be glued on black or speckled supports without the colors being altered. It has good tensile strength and resists flexion, breakage, fluctuations in temperature and relative humidity. These properties make the material suitable for indoor as well as outdoor use.

Blueback paper is most commonly used for billboard advertising.

- The print is resistant to water and UV rays.
- The back of the material is blue.
- Bonds to panels with glue, without getting damaged.

Frontlit Flex

frontlit-flex

It is regular white banner with a transparency of up to 10% and a density of 330-550 g / m2. It is used on billboards with front lighting (hence the designation). Only one side is printed.

The material is known for its good tensile strength. Its plasticity allows it to be used not only for outdoor hanging posters, but for decoration purposes at exhibitions and in sports courts as well. Properties of the surface provide good resistance to outdoor conditions.

It is distinguished by its glossy surface.

Flag

panza-vanvas

The flag is a 100% polyester fabric. High quality images can be printed on this material, the use of solvent based and UV inks is advised.

Recommendation: Flags, interior signs and store decorations, curtains, drapes, etc.

One of the many advantages of textile materials is the fact that they are designed specifically for ink-jet printing. This factor helps advertising producers avoid a number of difficulties. As is known, textile absorbs ink due to its hygroscopy, so getting a picture with vivid colors and lit hues is virtually impossible. The sooner the ink dries, the clearer the image becomes – therefore, solvent based ink is used for printing on fabric rather than water based ink. The second important factor that influences image quality enhancement is the special surface that the fabric is covered with. Thanks to this unique finish, the results can meet even the most stringent demands.

One Way Vision

one-way-vision

Special perforated PVC window film of 140 microns thickness with 135g / m² silicone coated backing paper. The adhesive is a transparent, removable solvent-based polyacrylic. The surface of the foil itself is white and glossy and the adhesive side is black. Its printable area to total area ratio is 50%.

Solvent based, eco-solvent based or UV ink is recommended for printing on transparent surfaces: on windscreens, windows or anywhere else a decoration needs to be applied and good visibility is required from the inside.
